Lorna was born in Jamaica where she graduated high school. She came to America in 1975, and attended Bronx Community College for Nursing LPN. From 1990 to 2006, she worked two jobs as a nurse aide caring for people, sometimes several at a time. One was at Columbian Presbyterian Medical Center (622 West 168th Street, NY, NY 10032 Tel: 212-305-2500) and the other was at Manhattanville Nursing Care Center Inc. (311 W 231st, Bronx, NY 10463, Tel: (718- 601-8400). From 2010 through the present, she was worked as a home health aide through agencies and through private duty.
Through her many assignments since 1990, Lorna has obtained expertise and experience helping elderly and sick people, including those with Parkinsons and people of various ages, including the elderly, with mental impairments, strokes, Alzheimer's, seizures, trouble walking, needing assistance with activities of daily living, and other ailments.
She is fluent in English.
Lorna is a widow and has 5 children ranging in ages from 35 to 48 and several grandchildren. Like many other caregivers, she very much likes helping people, in large part due to the loving and caring nature of her family upbringing. She is smart, skilled, calming, with a pleasant personality and gets along well with people.
