Description

A. Overview:
Dorothy Lambiris has always loved writing poems, rhymes, and limericks. Her poetry gave rise to collaboration with a composer friend on music projects. Being of Greek descent, Dorothy's home was never without the sounds of Greek music, later fostering her love for a variety of music from classical to pop. Dorothy's writing style is philosophical.....sensitive to the human journey. Her songs are generally in the pop genre. Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, and later Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys were inspirational.

    D. Words for song (written by Dorothy Lambiris)

I never thought to ask for warmth
    To cover me
When I was cold and lonely
    Never thought someone
    Would be there
    To protect me
    Mama said rely on yourself.
    I never knew
    What I was lacking
    So I took care
    Of all my needs
    It got so hard
    Sometimes I felt so weary
    Baby come and rescue me

    CHORUS
Then I met you and realized
Your outstretched hand meant you were there
    Your gentle smile
    Assured me that you care
Whatever bridge could ever come before us
    Together we’ll cross over everywhere.
    We do it better together
    We do it better together
No longer by ourselves out there.

    I was alone
    All by myself
And I stayed that way for awhile
Afraid to have a broken heart
I didn't want to pay the price.
Still a part of me would always wonder
How long I’d live this solitary life
Never dared to venture past the point
Of questioning if I was wrong or right.
    CHORUS
Then I met you and realized
Your outstretched hand meant you were there
    Your gentle smile
    Assured me that you care
Whatever bridge could ever come before us
    Together we’ll cross over everywhere.
We do it better together……..We do it better together……We do it better together
No longer by myself out there.
